Tim Tebow and the Hail Mary

Hail Mary!

Timothy Richard Tebow. What does that name mean to you? To me it means, WINNER Wow, what a game. My family and I were at Papa’s Pizza watching the game, towards the end when it was going into overtime, I packed up the troops and left, thinking this was it and I didn’t want to see the Denver Broncos go home, so I left. About 5 minutes later, my phone rang, and the voice on the other side (my buddy Sultan), said “Oh my god! I can’t believe what just happened!” “Tim Tebow just threw a pass for an 80 yard touchdown to win the game, on the first play of overtime to win the game.” Now that’s a Hail Mary! Excitement ran through my veins as I cheered obnoxiously in the car, screaming profanities in joy, as my kids listen and say “Dad, watch your language”.

I just blogged about how the Denver Broncos couldn’t win with Tebow at QB, I now eat crow! All season, talking about how if the Broncos start Tebow, I will become a fan. And I did! I truly believed, until the end of the season when they lost 3 straight, I started listening to the people on Sports Center about how he can’t QB in the NFL. I started buying into the hype myself. What a loyal fan I am huh? Maybe it’s true, but for now, let’s celebrate and be happy for the kid!

Every analyst in the nation is against him when he is losing and with him when he is winning. Can we all just cheer for Tebow when he is playing? On the field he is just a player, but off the field, he dedicates his time to the needy and the helpless. Can most of you out there say that you even offer a couple of hours a year to charity, or to help others? I know I think about it, but never do, and I am willing to bet that most of you that read this don’t either. That is why I urge you to cheer for this kid that the entire nation has their eye’s on, waiting for him to fail, when all he does with his faith and beliefs is put hope into the hopeless and to the ones around him!

He brings a greatness to the game that no other player does. I am a loyal Florida State Seminoles fan and have been for over 20 years. Tim Tebow is a HATED Gator, but my son and I have been cheering for the kid for the past 6 years! He is a winner and an amazing person so I hope that you all cheer for him in his next game, because if he loses, the media is going to tear him apart. Think about it this way, if it were the other way around, he would probably cheer for you.
