Playoff Picks for Sunday

By Rich Brown on January 10, 2010
They don’t call him the Guru for nothing!  So far on the year with the Pro’s our record is 30-18 hitting 63% of the time.  I bet your 401k is not performing that well.  For college we ended the year on complete fire thanks to the Bowl Games finishing the year with a record of 29-22 hitting 56% of the time.
Today’s games I absolutely love.
New England Patriots vs. Baltimore Ravens(+4)
These are not the same New England Patriots that blew teams out and the game was over in the first quarter.  Not to mention, the best wide receiver on the team, Wes Welker is not playing today, yea that right, Wes Welker I said it.  This game will be a three point game either way so I’m taking the Ravens +4.  The Ravens should be able to run, and pass at will against the Patriots eroding defense.
Arizona Cardinals(2.5) vs. Green Bay Packers
This game went from Arizona being favorite by 2.5, to them being dogs by 2.5.  That’s a 5 point swing with no injuries.  So that means everyone in America is going to Vegas and putting their house on Green Bay.  I  love Green Bay today, they are by far the hottest team in the NFL right now, with the hottest QB.  However Arizona are the NFC champs, they are at home, they can match Green Bay’s firepower, and most importantly Vegas was not built on winners.  So the Guru says take 2 and call me in the morning, Take the money line, and take the 2.5…by game time this may even shoot up to 3.

  1. Good picks Rich. I like the new look, too.

I thought the winner of the Cards/Pack game might have a good shot against the Saints, but if they play defense like that next week it’ll be over quick.

  2. Rich Brown says:

Almost 100 points scored in the game. Ironically it ends on a defensive touchdown. Cards vs Saints this may have a shot at being the highest under over in a playoff game ever. I am very interested to see what the spread will be in this one. Thanks for the kudos on the new look
